Cinavo Help and Support
Help with playback, bilingual subtitles, imports and SMB/NAS sources on iPhone, iPad and native Mac.
1. Open a video
On iPhone or iPad, import an authorized video from Files or receive it through Transfer, then open it in Media. On Mac, open a video or authorize a folder. Cinavo does not include a film library or a third-party channel catalog.
2. Prepare subtitles
Choose the video's spoken language and your preferred subtitle language. If Cinavo asks to prepare language resources, allow that preparation to finish before trying subtitles. Availability and accuracy depend on the device, language and recording; results are not guaranteed to be instantaneous or error-free.
3. Transfer over trusted Wi-Fi
Keep Cinavo in the foreground and open Transfer. Use the displayed address or QR code on a computer, then select files or drag them onto the page. The local transfer is unencrypted and has no access verification, so use only a trusted network and keep the app in the foreground.
4. Connect SMB/NAS
Add a compatible network source using your server address, share and account details. Confirm that your device can reach the server and that your account can read the files. Enter account details only in the app, never in a support message.
5. If playback or subtitles fail
Try a file you know works, check the selected languages and any requested downloads, and confirm access to your files or network source. When requesting help, describe the visible error and your app and system versions; do not send private media or passwords.
6. Feedback and contact
On iPhone, iPad and Mac, open Settings and choose Feedback to send a message and check replies. An email address is optional. Feedback does not automatically attach videos, playback history or local logs. Check replies in Feedback on the same device; automatic email, push notifications and cross-device recovery are not provided. You can also email info@xunova.tech; describe the visible error without including private media or NAS passwords.
7. Application and third-party licenses
Cinavo is not open source. The app's About section lists the actual third-party copyright and license notices; these do not grant an open-source license to Cinavo itself. For applicable App Store licensing terms, see Apple's Standard EULA: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ . Use only media you are authorized to access.
